Sustainability as Part of the Manufacturing Process

For Camcut, sustainability means using materials, tools, cutting fluids, energy, machine capacity, and other production resources efficiently. A well-planned manufacturing process generates less waste, fewer errors, fewer unnecessary work stages, and more high-quality production.

Our sustainability efforts are also built on the sustainability programs of our partners. We choose manufacturers that invest in quality, environmental responsibility, product safety, the circular use of materials, and continuous improvement. Many of our key partners have systems aligned with the ISO 9001, ISO 14001, and ISO 45001 standards, as well as sustainability reporting, circular economy solutions, and long-term climate targets.

Walter Recycling Service Camcut

Extending Tool Life and Material Circularity

Responsible tool use means making the most of a tool throughout its entire life cycle. Many carbide tools can be resharpened and recoated before purchasing a new tool. This extends their service life, reduces the need for new tools, and conserves valuable raw materials.

Camcut provides Walter Tools’ resharpening and recoating services, as well as carbide recycling services. Used carbide tools can be returned to the manufacturer’s material cycle to be used as raw material for new tools.

Walter Tools advances sustainability through product safety, responsible sourcing, material recycling, and sustainable product development. As a Gold Level Channel Partner, Camcut helps bring these practices to Finnish manufacturing companies.

Walter GPS Camcut

More efficient production through digital technologies

Digital technologies support more responsible manufacturing by enabling machining to be planned, programmed, simulated, and optimized before production begins. This helps reduce errors, scrap, trial runs, downtime, and material waste while making more efficient use of tools, energy, materials, and machine capacity.

Camcut provides software and digital solutions covering the entire process, from planning individual operations to the completed part and quality assurance. CAM software, NC simulation, measurement solutions, tool data management, digital product information, and downloadable 3D models support decision-making before unnecessary waste or errors arise in production.

Choosing the right tools also has a significant impact on resource efficiency. Walter Tools’ Walter GPS helps users select suitable tools and machining parameters for each application. Walter GPS’s ECO functions can be used to compare how different machining strategies affect factors such as machining time, energy consumption, and carbon dioxide emissions.

More Responsible Cutting Fluid Management

Cutting-fluid management affects chemical consumption, the amount of waste generated, tool life, machine reliability, part quality, and working-environment conditions. When the cutting fluid remains clean and usable for as long as possible, the entire process becomes more stable.

Camcut helps improve cutting-fluid management, from selecting the right fluid to maintenance and reducing losses. Our solutions include, for example, FUCHS cutting fluids, Wogaard fluid recovery systems, FE-OL oil skimmers, and Ariana R-3000 maintenance units.

FUCHS develops its lubrication solutions as part of its sustainability strategy. Key focus areas include the circular economy, product carbon footprints, responsible product development, and long-term Net Zero targets. Camcut helps customers use these solutions as part of resource-efficient cutting-fluid management.

Paperless operating model and efficient service processes

Camcut has operated almost paperlessly since the company was founded. We use electronic documents, digital services, e-commerce, a mobile application, and technical materials that reduce paper consumption, speed up the flow of information, and make it easier to do business with us.

Instead of printed catalogs, price lists, and marketing materials, we use digital solutions that can be updated continuously. Remote training, online meetings, digital product presentations, and remote technical support reduce unnecessary travel when an on-site customer visit would not provide added value.

Up-to-date product information, inventory availability, customer-specific pricing, and downloadable 3D models in our online store make it easier to select, design, and implement products. We also help improve tool inventory management, tool automation, consumption tracking, and delivery models in ways that can reduce excess inventory and material waste.

We advance sustainability together with our partners.

Camcut collaborates with Walter Tools, FUCHS, Mastercam, Toolhive, Wogaard, and other international technology suppliers, among others. Our partners’ sustainability efforts, technical development, patented solutions, material recycling practices, and certified systems also support Camcut’s ability to serve customers responsibly.

We encourage tool sharpening and recycling, efficient cutting-fluid management, the use of digital services, improved inventory management, and continuous production optimization.

Camcut does not manufacture products itself or publish its own sustainability report. We make the greatest impact where we can create the most added value: by helping customers efficiently leverage the technologies, responsible operating practices, and digital solutions of leading manufacturers.
